When Maria called me to schedule her maternity session and daughter’s newborn session, I was so excited to learn that she was a fellow newborn photographer like myself bak! Maria and her husband Trent were both from the US and had been in Singapore only a little over 2 years. That’s right, we had a maternity session done too and that was an amazing session too, I shall post about it soon enough!
Maria had so many wonderful ideas and props for her second daughter’s photography session. Little Princesita Olivia’s newborn session was a family affair including mom, dad and big brother Tiago! Maria had newborn photos done with her eldest Tiago two years ago and wanted to recreate a few images with Olivia’s for displaying on the wall next to Tiago’s newborn photos. I love how she was so creative with the nursery and to be honest, it was both an honor but pretty nerve wrecking to know you’re working with someone who knows what YOU are doing!
Maria told me that she hired me because she loved the colors I use. LOVE. She and I knew exactly which colors will go perfectly with the nursery and I love that she shared my neutral obsession.
I like to keep colors consistent throughout so that when clients are looking at announcements, albums and wall displays everything works really well together.
I love photographing newborns with their families – the love and excitement captured during this part of the session is wondrous. At 2 years old, big brother Tiago was a little shy to get his picture taken with his new little sister, but we were glad things went really well at the studio and I am really glad and thankful that Maria picked me!
Thinking about booking your newborn photography session?
It’s never too early! Newborn sessions take place within 5-12 days after baby’s birth and my calendar fills up quickly.
It is suggested that you book your newborn photographer at the beginning of your second trimester to guarantee room on their calendar around your estimated due date.
